Terms governing use of this publication
Last reviewed: this version supersedes all prior editions. International Health ("the publication", "we") is an editorial review platform evaluating field-ready medical supplies for durability, portability, and suitability in low-resource and outbreak settings. By accessing this site you accept the terms set out below. If you do not accept them, please do not rely on the material published here.
1. Nature of the content — editorial judgment, not advice
Everything we publish across our four pillars — Cold Chain, Field Diagnostics, Outbreak Response, and WASH Infrastructure — is editorial assessment provided for informational purposes only. Our equipment gradings reflect field-tested editorial judgment: how a passive cool box holds temperature after a 36-hour transport leg, how a malaria RDT performs read in poor light, how an isolation unit withstands repeated decontamination. They are not procurement recommendations, not clinical guidance, and not a substitute for the manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU), your organisation's standard operating procedures, or the judgement of a qualified clinician, logistician, or biomedical engineer.
Decisions about what to deploy in a specific programme — and the cold-chain, dosing, diagnostic, and infection-control decisions that follow — must rest with the practitioners and procurement officers accountable for that programme, working from primary sources: WHO PQS prequalification listings, manufacturer specifications, national regulatory approvals, and your own field validation.
2. No warranty of fitness for a specific deployment
Our reviews describe general suitability for classes of environment; they cannot account for the particular conditions, regulatory context, patient population, or supply constraints of any single deployment. Accordingly, the content is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that a product graded favourably here is fit for your deployment, nor that information remains current as specifications, prequalification status, or supply availability change. Always verify against the manufacturer's current IFU and the relevant WHO PQS or national regulatory listing before procurement or use.
3. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, International Health, its editors, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage — including programme disruption, equipment failure, cold-chain excursion, diagnostic error, or patient harm — arising from reliance on, or use of, any content published here. The high-consequence nature of field medicine is precisely why this material is framed as editorial input to your decision process, not as a directive.
4. Intellectual property and citation
All editorial content — text, equipment gradings, methodology notes, illustrations, and commissioned imagery — is the original work of International Health and is protected by copyright. You may quote, cite, and link to our work for academic, clinical, and programmatic purposes with appropriate attribution: name the publication, the title of the piece, and a link to the source page. This mirrors the citation practice expected of any peer-reviewed source. You may not republish substantial portions, reproduce our gradings as your own, or present our content in a manner that implies endorsement of a product, vendor, or procurement decision we have not made. Trademarks and product names referenced in reviews remain the property of their respective owners and are used solely for identification and editorial commentary.
5. Acceptable use
This site is offered to global-health practitioners, NGO and MSF logisticians, public-health procurement officers, field epidemiologists, tropical-medicine researchers, and immunisation-programme planners. You agree not to: scrape, mirror, or systematically harvest content beyond fair academic use; misrepresent our editorial gradings as clinical certification or regulatory approval; use the publication to imply a commercial endorsement; or interfere with the integrity, security, or availability of the service. Automated access for indexing or research must respect reasonable rate limits and our published machine-readable directives.
6. No procurement or commercial relationship
International Health is in an authority-building, editorial capacity. The presence of a product in our reviews does not constitute a sale, a referral, a sourcing arrangement, or any commercial relationship between you, the publication, and any manufacturer or supplier. We name no prices, broker no transactions, and accept no responsibility for any procurement you undertake.
7. External references and sources
Where we cite WHO PQS listings, regulatory bodies, manufacturer documentation, or peer-reviewed literature, those references are provided to let you verify our reasoning at source. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of external sites.
8. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the publication and the regulatory landscape evolve. Material changes will be reflected on this page; continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms, about citing our work, or about a correction to a published grading should be directed to the editorial desk via our contact page. We treat correction requests with the same rigour we apply to the original review.
